BACHELOR OF TOURISM & HOTEL MANAGEMENT

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

BTHM (Bachelor of Tourism and Hotel Management) is a 3 year undergraduate (UG) program. The program consists of six semesters distributed over a period of 3 academic years. The total number of course in programme is 31, which are spread through 120 credits. The courses are divided into four categories that are Common Course, Core Course, Complementary course and open course. Practical orientations to Food production, Food and Beverage Service, Accommodation Operation and Front office operation are the main attractions of this programme.After second semester every student has to go for one month Industrial exposure Training either at Travel Agency or Airport and after fourth semester every student has to go for five month industrial exposure training at Hotels .During the six semesters, students have to do a project. The programme also includes industrial visits to reputed Hotels .During the third or Fourth semester the students have to undertake a study tour of not less than seven days.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

This course gives an opportunity to the students to equip themselves to meet the emerging challenges of the ever-expanding Hospitality and Tourism Industry. BTHM graduates have exiting and enticing opportunities in the lucrative management cadres in the tourism and hospitality organizations in India as well as abroad. The program focuses on developing of quality human resources in tourism and hospitality with adequate knowledge, skills and attitude, and prepare the students for employment and entrepreneurial opportunities, by way of theoretical, practical and field training, grooming and industry academic interactions.
